Tanned, Tipsy, and Totally Lost – My 48 Hours in South Goa

Let me tell you, fam – 48 hours in South Goa can either be a divine retreat or a delicious disaster. Mine? A bit of both.
I landed in Goa with a plan (or so I thought). The idea was simple: chill on the beach, sip some Feni, and soak in the Goan sun. But Goa had other plans, and my “relaxing getaway” turned into a mad mix of getting tanned, tipsy, and totally bloody lost.
Day 1: The "Sunburn" Starter Pack
I started my day like any enthusiastic tourist – hyped up, overpacked, and hungry. First stop: Arambol Beach. Yes, I know it’s technically North Goa, but the vibe was too chill to skip. Drum circles, barefoot yogis, and someone selling glow-in-the-dark dreamcatchers – Arambol is the OG spot for finding yourself… or at least finding cold beer at 11 AM.
By noon, I was on my way to Anjuna Beach. Got caught in a scooter jam (don’t ask) but reached just in time to witness a tattooed firang doing fire poi next to a shack blasting retro Bollywood beats. Anjuna hits different – it’s sandy chaos, but with soul. Be sure to check out the flea market, unless you’re broke like me and just want to window shop ‘em elephant pants.
Day 2: Sunsets & Shenanigans
Woke up with a hangover that could slay demons, but the South Goa peace cured me. Palolem Beach was my bae that morning – calm, blue, and ridiculously Insta-worthy. Later, I made my way to a hidden gem recommended by a local auntie selling coconut water: Cola Beach. I was like – bro, is this even real?
Somehow by evening, I was at Vagator Beach, grooving to trance music with strangers who called me “bhai” after 2 shots of cashew Feni. Sunset at Vagator is magical – like nature threw on an orange filter. I swear I saw a foreigner propose to a local. That’s Goa, baby.
Food? Oh man, I devoured Xacuti and Bebinca like it was my last meal. And don't even get me started on those prawn thalis. This place oozes Goan heritage – from the Portuguese-style homes to aunties yelling in Konkani when you ask for a discount.
Tips for the Trip:
Carry sunscreen. Learn “Susegad” – it’s a whole vibe, bro. And budget well. The Goa trip cost can sneak up on you faster than a shack server offering Happy Hour.
Before I wrap up – if you're planning your own escape, check out the top 10 places to visit in Goa, but also let yourself get lost in the random bylanes and bonfires. That’s where the real stories live.
So yeah, in 48 hours, I got roasted, I got drunk, and I got lost more than once. But hey – isn’t that what every great story from Goa beach India sounds like?
